Welcome to the 2007 MYAA SENIOR Baseball League

League Overview

The MYAA Senior Baseball League is targeted for players who are 15-18 years old (18 as of April 15th). It is a developmental league for baseball skills to be improved and exhibited in a competitive fashion emphasizing sportsmanship and character building as top priorities.

 Tryouts

Tryouts will be held at Millcreek Intermediate High School Gym on Saturday, April 21st 10am-12.  All new players must attend this tryout to be eligible for the open draft.  Absent players will be randomly placed on teams.  If you are not able to attend the tryout you must contact the League President or Secretary for alternate arrangements or permission to be excused.

 League Structure

Teams will start practicing in early May. A schedule of regular season games will begin approximately May 18th and culminate with a playoff tournament to be concluded by August 3rd.  Please make your vacation plans with this schedule in mind if possible.  There will be opportunities for two Millcreek all-star teams (15-16 and 17-18) to participate in  competitive national tournaments through MYAA’s dual affiliation.  All MYAA teams will have exhibition games against non-Millcreek squads.  These are some of the fields where MYAA Senior boys competed in the summer of ‘05&’06:  Ainsworth, Sam Jethroe, Harborcreek High School, Memorial Park, McDowell, Corry, Wattsburgh, Mckean Recreational Park, Northwestern, Fairview, Gate of Heaven, On the Square in Waterford in addition to Walnut Creek, MYAA’s home field.

 League Rules

NOTE: The MYAA Bat Restriction Rule will be in effect all season with NO EXCEPTIONS!

For Senior League:  Wood or metal bats up to 36 inches in length with a "weight-to-length" ratio of

THREE ounces (-3) or higher (-2, -1) are legal. For example: a 34-inch bat must weigh at least 31 ounces.      The maximum barrel diameter is 2-5/8 inches.

 MYAA Conduct Code

The MYAA code of conduct for players, coaches and spectators must be abided by during the season and will be strictly enforced. If you are unfamiliar with this guideline, ask an MYAA official or coach to supply you with one or check www.myaasports.com    All MYAA Senior games are officiated by PIAA umpires
